Shovel Handle Pub
The Shovel Handle Pub offers dinner options with upscale American pub food, delicious creations, and a staff that will put a smile on your face and make you want to come back time and time again to experience this magical place.
The Shovel Handle Pub is a beautifully restored post and beam barn built in 1842. An actual working barn up until the 1970s, the original cow stanchions still hang in the barn along with artifacts from the farming days of Moody Farm.
With views of Black Mountain Ski Resort out our windows, sit fireside under “Whit”, our moose mascot, and enjoy three levels of dining.
Family-friendly live entertainment is offered most weekends.
The Shovel Handle Pub also provides a great venue for weddings and parties up to 140 people.

The Valley Originals is a group of locally owned and operated restaurants that have joined together to share their thoughts and ideas on what the true experience of a local eatery should be like. By its very nature, the independent restaurant is unique in its ambiance, recipes, and service – it is not a copy of any other restaurant in the locale.
Food is prepared fresh daily, often from local products. Frozen food prepared in some far-flung commissary is not the fare of the independent restaurant. The owner is on the premises to respond to your dining needs and wishes.
We support local organizations, charities, and activities and are all involved in the community effort. Our goal is to give you a very special and unique experience and the finest food found anywhere.
